Augustine Harjo

Shawnee resident, Augustine Harjo, 61, passed away Thursday, August 14, at her home.

Augustine, the daughter of Eugene Harjo and Elouise Factor, was born August 20, 1963, in Oklahoma City. She enjoyed watching Lifetime and cooking shows, and she loved cooking on Sundays and watching her Cowboys.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Harjo; a brother, Victor Harjo; and a sister, Cassandra Rhodd Harjo.

Augustine is survived by her sons, Eugene Reuben, of Shawnee, Terry Richie, of Arlington, Texas, and Zachary Richie, of Arlington, Texas; a daughter, Stella Reuben, of Arlington, Texas; brothers, Carlos Harjo, of Shawnee, Darrell Harjo, of Shawnee, and Benny Harjo, of Arlington, Texas; eight grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Eugene Reuben, Zachary Richie, Terry Richie, Angel Harjo, Caddo Taylor, and Rodney Harjo.

A wake service is scheduled for Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 7:00 P.M. at Bird Creek Church.

Services will be Monday, August 18, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Bird Creek Church, with Rev Bill Hobia Jr., and Pastor Walter Factor, officiating. Burial will follow at Bird Creek Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
