Arlie Hudson

Arlie Hudson, 74, Konawa, Oklahoma resident, passed away, Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was born December 23, 1947, in Konawa, Oklahoma to Roy Hudson and Effie (Mosley) Hudson on the old F.P. Swan Ranch where Mr. Hudson was a rancher. He graduated from Vamoosa High School in 1966 and attended college at UCO for a short period. He married Dawnell Kaye (Ogle) in Sherman, Texas on May 28, 1996.

Arlie worked many, many years for what became Lucent Technologies before retiring and coming back to the Konawa area to be near his family and raise cattle. During his time at Lucent, he ran a store in Spencer and also built one in Noel, Missouri.

Arlie’s hobbies included quail hunting, fishing and boating. He enjoyed playing dominoes with his brothers and nephews at the lake while camping. He had large family get-togethers at Halloween near his pond with hayrides behind the tractor and roasting wieners on an open fire. July 4th family get-togethers ended with fireworks on the pond dam.

Arlie greatly loved all of his family and over the years had several pets, dogs or cats. One of his first dogs was a German Shepherd named Tony.

Arlie is survived by his son-in-law, Jim Morsches, his grandchildren; Isaac Morsches and Hannah Morsches, sisters; Norma Brock and Leota Wilson and her husband Milburn, sister-in-law; Franksine Hudson, brother, Art Hudson and wife Harriett. He was preceded in death by his wife Dawnell, his parents, his daughter Melissa Morsches, stepson Reed Jackson, sisters; Eveline Leech and husband Neal, Jewell Dean Harrison and husband Kennith, Bonita Burgett and infant sister Irma Dean Hudson, brothers; Ray Hudson and wife Joan and Jimmy Hudson, brother-in-law, Jerry Brock, and a family friend, Shorty, that lived on his place in Spencer and on Anderson Road, whom he also loved to play dominoes with. Arlie had 25 nieces and nephews of which 4 nieces and 2 nephews preceded him in death. He had 45 great nieces and nephews of which 2 nephews preceded him in death and 35 great-great nieces and nephews all of which survive him.

Public viewing for Arlie will be Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., with private family viewing from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.

The graveside service for Arlie will be at 10:00 a.m., September 26, 2022, at Dora Community Cemetery with Rev. Artie Hudson officiating. Interment will be at the Dora Community Cemetery, Seminole County Oklahoma near the intersection of NS 3540 and EW 1360.

Casket bearers will be son-in-law Jim Morsches and nephews David Leech, Terry Brock, Larry Harrison, Joey Hudson, Mark Hudson, Jeff Brock and Artie Hudson.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
