Archie Jay Russ, age 67 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2016 at the PAC building located at the Konawa Schools under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Philip Mullins and Jaymeson Kennedy will officiate. Burial will follow at Byars Cemetery in Byars, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers are Tim Coffey, Tim Duck, Mark Manuel, Lonnie Manuel, Charles Forehand, and Jared Norman. Honorary bearers are Tim Harris, Jack Russell, Bob Villines, Darrel Mackey, Jay King, Ed Cole, Justin Keys, Bill Kennedy, David Roe, Brandon Stoup, Micky Johnson, David Parker, and Alan Akerman. Visitation will be Friday and Saturday 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The family will be available to receive guests Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Archie was born April 16, 1949, in Corona, California to Albert Russ and Opal (Turner) Russ. After graduation, he married Grace Ann King August 16, 1968 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Archie was a welder with OG&E for thirty-two years. He loved working in his shop, and he always enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He is survived by his wife, Grace Ann (King) Russ of the home; three daughters, Angie Gentry and husband, Scott of Konawa, Annette Villines and husband, Bobby of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Amy Eropkin and husband, Mike of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; one brother, Alvin Russ and wife, Sue of Stratford, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Colton and Shelby Gentry, Hannah and Sarah Villines, and Kelsey and Brandon Eropkin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Opal Russ.
