Prague, OK

Prague resident Angela Fay Burney, 62, passed away Friday, October 30, 2026, in Oklahoma City.

Angie, the daughter of William and Mary Frances (Ray) Cindle, was born June 6, 1964, in Midwest City. She graduated from Dewar High School with the Class of 1983. On June 3, 1983, she married the love of her life, Connie Cleon Burney, in Hoffman, Oklahoma.

Angie was a hardworking woman who never seemed to slow down. Throughout her life, she often held several jobs at once, always finding a way to stay busy and provide for those she loved. She spent many years working as a certified medication aide before retiring. In addition, she enjoyed house sitting and housekeeping, and even operated her own pop-up food truck business. Angie had an entrepreneurial spirit and was never one to shy away from a new adventure.

When she wasn't working, Angie loved being outdoors. She was always dreaming up the next camping trip, planning every detail and making sure the campsite was ready. She was an exceptional fisherwoman, and anyone who spent time fishing with her knew she was right at home by the water. Some of her family's favorite memories were made during trips to the zoo, exploring museums, and enjoying kayaking adventures together. Angie was always on the go and could keep pace with Grace at the YMCA swimming pool.

She also shared a special bond with her sister, Susan. The two enjoyed countless adventures together, including trips to the spa bathhouses in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Angie was Susan's rock, the person she could always count on. No matter what life brought their way, Angie had a way of stepping in, finding a solution, and making things right. She was the kind of sister everyone hopes to have.

Above all else, Angie treasured her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews, making memories and sharing in the little moments that mean so much. She lived life with energy, determination, and a love for adventure, but it was the people she loved who made her life complete. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her generous heart, her can-do spirit, and the countless adventures they shared.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Connie Cleon Burney; her mother, Mary Frances Cindle; brothers-in-law, Ricky Madden, of Louisville, Kentucky, John Burney, and Mervin Burney; sister-in-law, Theresa Ann (Burney) Baynes; uncles, Roy Cindle and Reuben Cindle; and Reuben's wife, Velma Cindle, all of Dewar, Oklahoma.

Angie is survived by her daughters, Elisha Wells, Elizabeth and her husband, Matthew Gamel, and Amanda Burney and her wife, Jamie; grandchildren, Hannah, Kelly, Grace, and Noah; her father, William Ray Cindle; her longtime companion, John Hughes Rhoads; her sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Roy Osborne; sister-in-law, Peggy Madden; nieces and nephews, Robin Landers and Matthew Osborne; great-niece, Callie Mayes; great-great-nephew, Ezekiel Mayes; cousins, Rhonda and Steve Treagesser, Johnnie Sue, James Cindle, and Lee Cindle; best friends, Lisa Knighten and family, Terry Robinson and family, and the Burdine family; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear family friends.
