Alva Jane Christy of Park Hill, Oklahoma walked through the gates of Heaven on August 4, 2024 at 81 years of age. Jane was born on May 5, 1943 to Alvin and Mary Thomason in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Jane graduated from Shawnee High School and from there she worked for Shawnee Absentee Tribe District One and several years at Shawnee Medical Center Hospital as a medical transcriptionist.
One of Jane’s hobbies was art. She could draw or paint just about anything. She was so gifted she had to share her talent by teaching an art class at Vo Tech.
Jane met and married Jim Christy who was a cross-country truck driver. Every chance she got to go on the road with him she jumped at it. She always wanted to travel and see the countryside and she got her wish. When Jim and Jane retired, they bought a home on Lake Tenkiller where they would live and enjoy retired life.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; son, Thomas Hill; sister, Darlene Thomason; sister and brother-in-law, Alvin and Arlis Balentine and niece, Tammy Cole.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Jim of the home; son and daughter-in-law, David and Doneta Hill of Bethel, OK; sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Jim Fair of McLoud, OK; daughter-in-law, Sue Hill; seven grandkids and 8 great grandkids Jane loved with all her heart; and many other family and friends. Jane will be dearly missed.
