Lifelong Seminole resident, Albert Lee Tiger, passed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 in Seminole, OK at the age of 58. Albert was born on January 5, 1966 in Wewoka, OK. He was a member of The Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, Tusekia Harjo Band.

Albert received his education from Jones Academy in Hartshorne, OK. After graduating, he went to work for K & H Well Service where he dedicated over 20 years in the oil field. Later in life, he retired as a Supervisor climbing towers. He loved being able to teach his son Marquis all he knew about the tower field. He had many hobbies, but he loved to watch OU Football, fishing, grilling, and spend time with his family and friends. He made an impact on those that came in contact with him. He was more than just a good man as many of his friends would say. He was a loving husband, dad, and papa.

Preceding Albert in death were his parents, Benjamin & Betty Tanyan;  grandmother, Lina Harjo; brothers, Simon Harjo, Curtis Tanyan Harjo, Christopher Tanyan, Anthony Tanyan, Glenn & Ruth Tiger, Jimmy “Sonny Boy” Harjo and two sisters, Ruby Tanyan and Carolyn Talamasey.

Albert is survived by his wife, Brenda Tiger; children, Betty Tiger, Rebecca Tiger, Suzie & Anthony Adams, Marquis Fixico, Elizabeth & Chris Griffis, Aimee Tiger, Eddie, Ben, and Isabella Martinez, Aiva and Journee Tiger, Lorenzo Tiebout; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Clifton Tanyan & wife, Tina of Seminole, OK; two uncles, George Harjo of OKC, OK and Jimmy Dean Harjo of Seminole, OK; one aunt, Donna Renton & husband, William of Seminole, OK and a host of many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Zackery Tanyan-Cheater, Simon Harjo Jr., Mike Belcher, Landon Tiger, Eddie Martinez, Ben Martinez, Joseph Harjo and Jonathan Harjo.  Honorary casket bearers will be Grant Campbell, Bob Bush, Clay Estes, Ronnie James Tanyan, Nathan Harjo, Kenneth Lee Harjo, Lorenzo Tiebout, Trey Hodges, Tony Fixico, Dylan Fixico, Robby Cordell and Billy Cordell.


The wake service will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, OK.

On Friday, January 19, 2024, Albert will be taken to the home at 3313 N Hwy 99, Seminole at 10 a.m. with viewing available after 11 a.m.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Rev. Kevin Fox and Rev. Bill Hobia Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Harjo Cemetery at Tate Mountain.
