Olney Jay Gober, Seminole, OK resident, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024 in Seminole, at the age of 39. Jay was born on July 19, 1984 in Shawnee, OK. He proudly served in the United States Navy during Operation Enduring Freedom. He received the following honors: Iraq Campaign Medal with Eagle, Globe and Anchor; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon; National Defense Service Medal; Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Navy Expert Pistol Shot Medal and a Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
Jay enjoyed fishing, and woodwork.
Jay is survived by his mother, Cynthia Diane Gober of Asher, OK; father and step-mother, Paul and Valerie Gober of Seminole, OK; three sisters, Leanne Allen and Brian Roberson of Odessa, TX, Melissa Thomas and husband, Rodney of Amarillo, TX and Hannah Gober of Odessa, TX; two brothers, Richard Gober and wife, Jill of Macomb, OK and Jimmy Lee Gober of Asher, OK; and many other family and friends.
Jay was preceded in death by grandparents, Jay and June Sheppard, Edgar and Gladys Trent and Kenneth and Phyllis Gober.

Viewing will be Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, February 9, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, OK. Services will be livestreamed on the Swearingen Funeral Homes Facebook page. Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud.
