Jessie Faye (Jackson) Huskins

Shawnee

Jessie Faye Huskins, Shawnee resident, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 in Shawnee, at the age of 81.  Jessie was born on July 15, 1942 in Venice, CA to Guy Dewey and Jessie Ann (Ridens) Jackson.  She married Hershel Huskins on December 20, 1957 in Shafter, CA.  She worked preparing taxes for 30 years.

Jessie enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises.  She loved making jelly for her family.  She was a long time member of Highway Baptist Church.  Jessie’s greatest joy was preparing the treats for vacation bible school each year.

Jessie is survived by her son, Dale Huskins of Shawnee; two daughters, Anna Allen of Shawnee and Amber Garrison and husband, Dave of Eufaula, OK; two sisters, Francis Unruh of Shawnee and Treva Colen of Abilene, TX; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Melanie Huskins; sister-in-law, Barbara Jackson and many other family and friends.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hershel Huskins; son, Dean Huskins; siblings, Ollis Jackson, Frieda Jackson, Naomi and her husband, Jack Hall and Maynard Jackson.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Chris Huskins, Brandon Huskins, Chad Huskins, Nolan Hardin, Nathan Hardin and Bricen Huskins.  Honorary casket bearers will be Robert Allen and Nicholas Hardin.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday, August 14, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Highway Baptist Church  with Pastor Carl Whitfield officiating.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
